Brand name, colour and logo for the whole business, a store with its own brand, and the live preview.

0:00 Introduction

In this episode we put your own name, colour and logo on the back office, the register, the scanner and every receipt.

0:08 The business brand

Open Settings, then the Branding tab. The Business brand card is shown on every register, every scanner, the back office and your receipts.

On the right is a live preview. It is a small picture of the register, with the sell screen and a receipt, and it changes the moment you change anything on the left. Nothing is saved until you press the button.

0:30 Name

Brand name is what customers see. If you leave it blank, the app uses your store name. Let's call the business Lighthouse Outdoor Company.

The preview header already shows the new name.

0:44 Colour

Now the colour. Pick one of the twelve swatches. We will choose teal.

Watch the preview. The header and the buttons take on the colour. If your logo has its own colour, you can type its hex code instead. Here we will use a deeper teal.

The App default button takes you back to the standard colour.

The logo sits below. Replace logo lets you choose an image from your computer. A PNG with a transparent background works best.

We have a version of the logo in the same teal. Choose it, and it is uploaded straight away. Large images are made smaller first, so registers can keep a copy for when they are offline.

The preview shows the new logo at once, in the register header and at the top of a receipt. Remove would take the logo away again.

1:35 Saving

Press Save branding.

The change is saved, and the back office itself has changed colour and name. Registers and scanners pick it up the next time they sync.

1:48 A store with its own brand

Sometimes a store needs to look different, for example a franchise, or a shop with its own sign. Scroll down to Store overrides.

Harbor Mall already has an override. It has its own name and colour, and it says so here. Main Street uses the business brand. Anything a store does not set comes from the business brand.

Click Customise next to Main Street.

The same choices appear. We will give it its own name, and an orange colour.

The Inherit button would take the colour back from the business. The logo here is the business logo, because this store has not uploaded one of its own. Press Done.

Then press Save branding again.

Main Street now has its own brand. The Reset button next to a store removes its override, and it goes back to the business brand.

Your business now looks like yours. In the next episode, we add a new store and its registers.
