Create a business in the cloud console: its name, its own address and the owner's sign-in.
0:00 Introduction
The managed cloud runs your back office, registers and stock for you. In this episode you create your business and sign in to the console.
0:09 The sign-up form
This is the console's sign-up form. You reach it from the sign-in page, with the link New here? Create your business. It asks for five things.
First, the name of your business, the way your customers know it. We will use Echo Cycles.
Next is the address name. Your business is served at this name on the platform domain, so keep it short and without spaces. We will use echo.
Then your own name, and the email address of the owner. That email is what you will sign in with.
Last, a password. It needs at least ten characters, so a few ordinary words work well. Use the eye button if you want to check what you typed.
0:54 Creating the business
Press Create business. The cloud now builds your business, with its own database. That takes a moment.
A checklist counts down while it works: request received, database created, data structures installed, security keys created. Then it says Ready.
Below is your business address, here echo dot uat dot localhost. Two buttons take you to your business in the console, or straight into the back office. You are already signed in.
1:25 Signing in
Next time you come to the console you start at the sign-in page. Let us open it again, the way you would tomorrow.
Type your email and password, and press Sign in.
This is My businesses. Every business you own or work for is listed here, with its address and whether it is active. Echo Cycles is on the list, at echo on the platform domain.
If you run more than one business, the Add a business button creates another.
In the next episode we open the business page, and look at its addresses, its servers and its stores.
