Record damaged, stolen and found stock, and correct a quantity after a recount, with the reason and a note.
0:00 Introduction
Things go wrong in a stock room. A box is dropped, an item goes missing, or you find one you thought was lost. In this episode we record each of these with the scanner, so the stock on the computer stays right.
0:13 Opening Adjust stock
From the home screen, tap Adjust stock.
The scan box is ready. Under it, the list at the bottom shows the recent adjustments at this store, with the reason, who made them, when, and the change.
0:27 Damaged stock
A hoodie has been dropped in the stock room and is ruined. Scan its barcode.
The item appears with how many are on hand. Now we say why. The reasons are Damaged, Theft, Found, Internal use, Returned to vendor, and Recount. Tap Damaged.
Below the reasons, choose whether to remove stock, add stock, or set the total. Because the stock is damaged, the scanner has chosen Remove, and one unit. The line underneath shows the result: on hand goes from three to two.
You can type a note to explain what happened. Then tap the button at the bottom, which repeats what you are about to do.
The scanner confirms the new quantity, and the adjustment appears in the recent list, with your name and the note.
1:14 Found stock
Now some good news. A size L hoodie that was missing has turned up, two of them in fact. Scan the barcode, and tap Found.
This time the scanner chooses Add. We found two, so we tap the plus button once. On hand goes up to match.
Tap the button at the bottom to save.
1:35 Recounts
Sometimes you do not know what changed. You only know what is on the shelf. Scan the size M, and choose Recount.
Recount uses Set to, which means the number you enter is the new total. There are three on the shelf, so we tap plus once. The scanner shows on hand going from two to three.
Tap the button to save.
All three adjustments are in the list, newest first. Theft, Internal use and Returned to vendor work the same way: scan, choose the reason, set the quantity, and save.
In the next episode, we receive a serial numbered item, check expiring lots, and look at reorder suggestions.
