Finding the event, choosing the performance and the seats on the map, the hold and the booking fees, paying, and the tickets printed or emailed.
0:00 Introduction
Tickets are sold from the same sell screen as everything else, but every ticket is a seat. In this episode we sell two seats for the Harbor Lights Concert, and hand over the tickets.
0:11 Finding the event
An event is a product like any other. Type its name into the scan box.
The event appears once for each ticket type. Tap Adult.
0:20 The performance and the seats
The register asks which performance. These are the showings that are on sale, soonest first, with the venue. We choose the first.
This is the venue's own seat map. Every seat is a circle in the colour of its zone, and the standing area at the front says how many places are left.
Tap a seat to pick it. We tap two seats side by side, in row C.
Each picked seat is listed on the right with its ticket type and its price. The second seat is for a child, so we change its type.
The button at the bottom adds it up: two tickets, seventy dollars. If someone else takes one of the seats meanwhile, it leaves your pick and the register tells you.
Press Hold.
1:03 The cart
The seats are now held for this sale, so nobody else can take them. The cart has a line for each ticket, and after each one its booking fee.
A countdown shows how long the hold lasts, and Hold longer asks for more time. The price of a ticket is the price set on the performance: it cannot be changed or discounted at the register.
Press Pay, and take payment as usual. The customer pays in cash, the exact amount.
1:29 The tickets
The receipt shows each ticket with its performance, its seat and its code. The stubs have gone to the receipt printer, one for each ticket, with a Q R code for the door to scan, and the code to type if it cannot be read.
Reprint tickets prints the stubs again. Email tickets sends the customer a link to their tickets and a P D F. Press Email tickets.
Type the customer's address and press Send. The register says the tickets were emailed.
Tickets can only be sold while the register is online, because the seats are kept by the server, not by the register. Press New sale to carry on.
In the next episode, we sell tickets in the online store.
