Putting a sale on hold, retrieving it, and saving a quote.

0:00 Introduction

Customers change their minds, or forget their wallets. In this episode we put a sale on hold so you can serve someone else, bring it back again, and save a quote.

0:11 Parking a sale

A customer has chosen two hoodies, but has left their wallet in the car. We scan them.

Instead of making them wait, tap Park, under the cart. Parking holds the sale, so you can serve the next person.

The register asks for a note, so you can find the sale again. Typing the customer's name is a good idea. Then tap Park.

The cart is empty again, and ready for the next customer. The parked sale is safe on the server.

0:50 Serving someone else

The next customer only wants a cold brew coffee. Tap the tile, and take cash.

0:57 Retrieving it

Alex is back. Tap Retrieve at the top of the screen.

The Retrieve window has tabs. Parked shows sales on hold. Quotes, Layaways, and On this register come later. You can search by customer name or receipt number. Here is Alex's sale, with the time it was parked and the total.

Tap it, and the whole sale comes back into the cart, just as you left it.

Now take payment as normal.

1:27 Saving a quote

Another customer is thinking about buying a large hoodie, but wants to sleep on it. You can give them a quote. Scan the hoodie first.

Open the three dots menu, and choose Save as quote.

The quote is saved and the cart is clear. Nothing was sold, and no money was taken.

When the customer comes back, tap Retrieve, and open the Quotes tab.

Tap the quote to load it into the cart. The register uses the prices that apply today, then you pay the usual way.

We will leave it there. Cash exact, and the sale is done.

In the next episode, we look at layaways, where a customer pays a deposit now and collects the goods later.
